We are seeking a suitably qualified Application Engineer for our Fan Coil Unit (FCU) & Water Source Heat Pump (WSHP) product lines. The successful candidate will become a key player in growing existing product lines that will expand our market opportunities.
Summary
The Product Engineer is responsible for development and administer action plans to support the FCU & WSHP product lines. In the role as Product Engineer your job responsibilities include interaction with Drafting, Product Managers, Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing personnel to review and process tasks. This position also works with manufacturing to support the production process while driving manufacturing initiatives to improve quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other Duties May Be Assigned)
- Provide support to the FCU & WSHP product development staff.
- Work with the design drafting staff to develop and implement product drawings to support the design FCU & WSHP units.
- Communicate with and support manufacturing and quality control teams in the manufacturing of FCU & WSHP products in the factory. (This will include a ‘hands on’ approach)
- Coordinate projects with special product requirements. Work with design engineering to interpret customer specifications and ensure the supplied product meets expectations
- Support efforts to determine product specification of specific projects and work with sales, and our Rep network to support pre- & post sales questions.
- Work with lab personnel in developing a test plan for new and existing product development. Follow the progress of testing and translate data acquired in these tests to product and marketing material for catalogs, submittals, and other supporting product documents.
- Participate in representative and engineering training sessions
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering
- 2 years of commercial HVAC systems experience preferred. Involvement across areas like engineering, installation/start-up, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, technical sales, or customer service is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of commercial HVAC control systems
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical plans, schedules, technical drawings, and contract specifications

- Excellent written communication, verbal communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to interact with Nailor’s Rep’s / customers on the phone and in person is necessary
- Strong interpersonal skills

- Demonstrated computer-based skills
- Familiarity with CAD software a plus
- Must be initiative-taking and self-driven
Physical Demands
