Description

We are seeking a Project Development Manager to join our team! You will be responsible for ensuring positive project results through a blending of leadership and mentoring of the project team, as well as planning, controlling, safely executing a project, accomplishing budget, quality and schedule commitments. A successful candidate consistently demonstrates accurate and effective estimating, cost-control and forecasting techniques. Clear and effective communication skills are required to align the team and to build and maintain lasting client and subcontractor/partner relationships; sharing project status, managing client and partner expectations, and communicating changes to the owner as well as project and field teams. Managers also play a vital role in developing members of their project team; ensuring they are exposed to both technical and soft skill development opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in and may lead aspects of the preconstruction diligence, feasibility analysis and design, and engineering aspects of business development activities
• Oversee the implementation of distributed generation projects, including procurement, planning, mobilization, construction, inspection, and commissioning.
• Lead the estimation process, establishing best practices and standardized methodologies for creating “de-risked” quotes and proposals.
• Support early stage feasibility analysis of projects in the development pipeline
• Create detailed project budgets with consideration of company margins and capabilities
• Optimize project delivery through value engineering and operational efficiencies
• Collaborate with the Design and Engineering team on feasibility and fatal flaw analysis
• Strategize on staffing and deployment for revenue capture and realize maximum value from the developed pipeline
• Work with the Construction Manager to create detailed Gantt project schedules, review contracts, address areas of risk and communicate them to the project team.
• Manage the bid process for new projects; create, manage, and distribute detailed instructions to bidders for all scopes of work; ensure depth in coverage and accuracy; identify areas of risk and risk mitigation options
• Plan and execute the subcontractor buyout and selection process; including, the development and execution of subcontract agreements & exhibits
• Resolve any subcontract issues with minimal oversight
• Create, assemble, and manage project control estimates
• Supervise aspects of project management: estimating, preconstruction, scheduling, procurement, submittals, change orders, RFIs, budgeting, financial reporting, cost forecasting/management, schedule adherence, quality control
• Supervise aspects of the utility Net Energy Metering (NEM) and Interconnection Application in collaboration with the Project Development team and Engineering team to insure projects are properly submitted and shepherded through the administrative process in a timely manner
• Ensure required project permits, inspections, and tests are identified and planned for
• Manage the project procurement plan and log, identify risks, and determine options to mitigate risks in the procurement process
• Take responsibility for client management efforts and OAC activities; including meetings and other communication with the Owner & design team, including leading site walks
• Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of all aspects of the document control process
• Appropriately utilize available resources to increase efficiency & effectiveness of the team and the project; i.e. Jonas, Smartsheet, Lean practices, etc.
• Conduct physical site assessments, including 208v, 480v and medium voltage infrastructure
• Work collaboratively with the VP of Construction, Superintendent to organize schedules, and direct site activities to resolve issues or challenges encountered in the field and determine how to mitigate risks
• Build and maintain positive relationships with the project team, clients, owner’s representatives, design team, subcontractors, and others
• Supervise and take responsibility for the training and development of project staff, including, Project Engineers and Project Coordinators
• Promote Mynt culture & policies and procedures and demonstrate the highest level of ethics and professionalism
• Actively promote Mynt’s safety culture and practices. 
• Provide insight and supervision of Mynt’s construction safety policies, procedures, and practices.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree or extensive background directly in Commercial-Industrial scale Construction Management or Engineering.
• Ability to develop detailed project budgets and take-offs from design and engineering documents
• Ability to develop detailed project schedules.
• Strong grasp of NEC, CA state codes, and jurisdictional requirements
• 10 years progressive experience in Commercial and Industrial DER projects such as:
  Solar PV (Roof-mounts, ground mounts, fixed and tracker mounts, carports, ESS, Microgrids)
• 10 years experience with multiple DER technologies - technical knowledge and installation
• Proficient with computer applications such as MS Office, MS Project/P-6, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, Jonas Premier.
• Solid understanding of the building permit process & all building trades, including MEP.
• Experience establishing and maintaining the highest-level of safety practices.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient in a negotiated, customer-service based project delivery environment.
• OSHA 10 Certification.
• Strong skill set as a builder and in project management, with a solid record of success
• Familiarity with and proficiency with utility’s online interface platforms and portals, any related administrative processes i.e. PG&E NEM - Interconnection.
