Museum of Fine Arts is Hiring a Marketing and Corporate Sponsorship Officer Near Boston, MA

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the term Marketing and Corporate Sponsorship Officer will support the Manager of Corporate Sponsorship’s efforts to research, retain, steward, and acquire corporate sponsors and media partners. Additional Marketing support for fundraising and member acquisition drives will include project management of Marketing campaigns and materials that promote strategic Development initiatives.

This position will regularly assess the corporate and philanthropic landscape to reinvigorate the corporate sponsorship program, build back the donor pipeline and increase participation in Marketing campaigns that support MFA Fund, Planned Giving and Annual Programs. The Manager will research potential prospects to align with new exhibitions, mission-driven initiatives, and efforts to increase visitation. This is a three-year term position.

Essential Functions:

  • Identify content, programming, and events that align with new and existing sponsors and members to increase giving.
  • Stay abreast of shifting corporate and philanthropic priorities outside of the arts and culture sector and find new avenues for partnership, creating new angles that resonate with sponsors and donors
  • Create and project manage strategic promotional campaigns (working in collaboration with internal stakeholders) to support marketing, fundraising and membership acquisition efforts 
  • Assist with management of sponsor events, deliverables and fulfillment, ensuring visibility within the Museum’s owned and paid channels
  • Provide support in organizing and staffing sponsor and community events, including tabling and activations in support of partner relationships
  • Track budgets, prospect lists, sponsor guidelines, and credit lines
  • Create outreach materials and proposals
  • Uphold Brand standards and Brand voice across Marketing and Development campaigns and materials
  • Coordinate meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including preparing agendas and materials

Qualification Requirements and Characteristics 

  • 3-5 years experience in a related role; nonprofit experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, including collaboration with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to multitask and work under deadline
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Familiarity with project management software like Basecamp and Trello
  • Demonstrated sensitivity in dealing with confidential matters
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Experience creating Branded Powerpoint presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Salary Range

Three-year term position

Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
