Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Secretary/Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to lawyers and enhance office effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and assist with case preparation
- Draft and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings
- Manage and organize legal files and documents
- Coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and redirect calls when appropriate
- Maintain attorney calendars and schedules
- Assist in document review processes
- Utilize document management systems for file organization
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or similar role
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in MS Office and legal software applications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to conduct legal research and summarize findings accurately
- Familiarity with document management systems
