Refuse Truck Mechanic

Municipal Equipment Inc. is looking for experienced garbage truck mechanics. This is a full-time permanent position with extremely competitive pay, excellent benefits! Experience in the Garbage/Refuse Truck industry is recommended but not mandatory.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, mechanical and electrical issues.
• CNG knowledge/certification is a plus
• Secures parts for trucks
• Makes Service calls in the field (if necessary)
• Corrects break downs or problems concerning down trucks
• Must have own tools
• Must submit to and pass pre-employment and random alcohol and drug tests
• Must wear safety equipment as mandated by OSHA requirements
• Maybe required to be on call over a weekend shift (occasionally)
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
• Additional Hourly Pay for: a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

• Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
• Spends prolonged periods of time sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping and climbing

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
