POSITION OVERVIEW

The Assembler will perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electric motors and rotate stations within a work cell. Assemblies are to be built to customer's specifications and requirements within a team environment. The Operator will have the responsibility of providing a quality product within set time standards and strive to eliminate waste, provide a steady workflow, assist in process improvements, and monitor work to ensure that a quality product is produced. This employee must meet attendance, productivity, and quality of work requirements as well as adhere to all of MTI policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Accurately record daily production
• Work within an ESD environment to assemble entire products, sub-assemblies, and components.
• Identify and gather the required tools and materials by reviewing work instructions, blueprints, and pick lists.
• Rotate through tasks for specific production processes and needs.
• Use hand tools and small power tools to assemble products.
• Use chemicals, adhesives, solvents, paints, and inks, as required.
• Conduct quality inspections on products and parts
• Identify and isolate any non-conforming product.
• Prepare finished products for shipment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERRED Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and blueprints is required.
• The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals) is required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with inspection equipment such as dial indicators, micrometer, calipers, height gages and tape measures.
• High degree of manual dexterity to handle small objects and perform detailed tasks.
• Must be flexible with working overtime (daily and occasional weekends)
• Adaptable team player with a positive and energetic attitude who knows how to listen and appreciate others.
• Background in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• IPC J-STD certified is considered a plus.
