1st Shift Production Technician l

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Grind, sand, or polish, using hand tools or hand-held power tools, a variety of metal, wood, stone, clay, plastic, or glass objects. Includes chippers, buffers, and finishers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to read and review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences.
  • Verify quality of finished workpieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, measuring their dimensions, or testing them in working machinery.
  • Move controls to adjust, start, or stop equipment during grinding and polishing processes.
  • Remove completed workpieces from equipment or worktables, using hand tools, and place workpieces in containers.
  • Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met.
  • Transfer equipment, objects, or parts to specified work areas, using moving devices.
  • Trim, scrape, or deburr objects or parts, using chisels, scrapers, and other hand tools and equipment.
  • Repair and maintain equipment, objects, or parts, using hand tools.
  • Perform inspections in accordance with issued work instructions.
  • Maintain necessary records and ensure that documentation procedures are followed.
  • Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERRED Experience:

  • High School degree or GED is required.
  • At least one-year working experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • A working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn bead blasting, part straitening, and a variety of new tasks and equipment.
  • Material handling using pallet jack or appropriate equipment.
  • Operate band saws.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY DEMANDS:

  • Ability to sit and walk
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires repetitive movement
  • Dexterity to position and move small parts.
  • Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Requires bending or twisting
  • Requires exposure to hazardous equipment
  • Requires exposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings
