MSAD #35Position Title: Food Service Manager Reports To: Food Services Director, School Nutrition Prepared By: Ryan Cormier, Financial Manager and Chris Callahan, ChartwellsDate: September 14, 2023Position Summary: Responsible for all aspects of food production in assigned school, keeping within all sanitation, food cost, and scheduling guidelines. Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); previous experience with quantity food preparation and service; Certified Serv-Safe, Complete State, Department of Education, School Food Service Training Program or Equivalent preferred. Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check Certificate eligibility required.Duties and Responsibilities: The responsibilities outlined below are representative and do not encompass or define all tasks that may be required by this position.1. Plans and directs the preparation of expanded menu and serving of all food within the cafeteria.2.
Responsible for food and supplies including revenue and inventory records.3. Supervises and participates in the preparation and serving of food. 4. Oversees and participates in cleaning of the kitchen and related areas.5.
Plans work schedules.6. Directs sanitary procedures.7. Inspects the kitchen, cooking and mixing utensils, and employees for cleanliness and sanitary purposes.8. Ensures that all equipment in the cafeteria area is in safe, working condition, and notifies the appropriate authority when repairs are needed.9.
Maintains records on food and supplies received and used.10. Maintains accurate production records conforming to federal/department guidelines.11. Trains new kitchen helpers when assigned to their location.Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises Food Service Assistant and POS Operator.
