MRE Consulting is Hiring a Technical Project Manager Near Pascagoula, MS

MRE is searching on behalf of a client for an experienced technical professional to go onsite in Pascagoula, Mississippi, for a temporary contract of 2-3 months. The role involves overseeing the activation of a rig. If you have a background in technical project management, infrastructure deployment, network engineering, or related fields, we want to hear from you!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the activation process of a rig, overseeing the installation, configuration, and testing of technical equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Build and configure equipment racks according to project specifications, optimizing layout and space utilization for efficient rig operations.
  • Identify and establish optimal junction points for cabling, ensuring reliable and organized connectivity throughout the rig.
    Interpret and utilize blueprints and technical diagrams to guide installation and setup activities accurately and in accordance with design plans.
  • Coordinate the acquisition of necessary permits and approvals from regulatory authorities to initiate work on the rig activation project.
  • Collaborate closely with onsite teams, contractors, and vendors to coordinate activities, troubleshoot issues, and ensure project milestones are met on schedule.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems that arise during the activation process, implementing effective solutions to maintain project progress and rig functionality.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including equipment configurations, installation records, permits, and progress reports, to ensure project transparency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proven experience in technical project management or similar roles within industries such as oil and gas, telecommunications, construction, or IT infrastructure deployment.
  • Strong IT skills with hands-on experience in assembling and configuring equipment racks, including server installation and configuration, network equipment deployment (such as switches and routers), data center infrastructure management (including cooling systems and power distribution units), storage area network (SAN) setup with storage arrays and fiber channel switches, and expertise in virtualization technologies for optimizing server resources and scalability within rack-mounted environments.
  • Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and translating technical blueprints and diagrams into actionable project plans.
  • Familiarity with regulatory processes and permit acquisition related to rig operations, demonstrating the ability to navigate and comply with regulatory requirements effectively.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and independently to drive project success.
  • Capability to travel and work onsite in Pascagoula, MS during the week for the duration of the 2-3 month contract period. This resource will be allowed to go home on weekends.
  • Travel costs will be covered. Candidates not local to MS are still encouraged to apply.
