What does an HR Generalist do at PremierBank?

You are a business partner/coach to our employees and leadership team . As an HR Generalist at PremierBank, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing our organizational culture and supporting our employees’ growth and well-being. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will oversee a range of HR functions, including talent acquisition, payroll processing and HRIS maintenance, employee engagement, employee relations & compliance, and benefits administration. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while being a trusted partner to both employees and leadership.

Essential Duties:

TALENT ACQUISITION |  Lead recruitment efforts across all PremierBank locations, from posting job openings, develop recruitment strategies, identify alternative recruitment sources, interview and assess candidates and extend offers of employment and schedule pre-employment tests. Schedule, manage and conduct employee onboarding process.

HRIS MAINTENANCE/PAYROLL Enters all new hires and processes terminations in system. Updates employee information as necessary, process bi-weekly and other special payrolls (in Paylocity), provides system support including researching and resolving issues. Write maintain and support a variety of reports or queries in system. Assist with development of standard reports and maintain data integrity in HRIS by analyzing data. Set up all deductions in payroll system, including benefits enrollments and terminations, ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions from insurance providers. Process monthly billing from insurance providers. Review bills for accuracy, codes and submits to supervisor for payments. Resolves discrepancies with carries and payroll. Conducts wage verifications.

EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT |  Initiate and drive all employee activities which include employee events, perks, recognition, and rewards programs. Proactive communication coupled with timely professional responses and ethical behavior is expected. Maintain documentation relating to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, and disciplinary actions.

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS & COMPLIANCE |  Maintains knowledge of labor laws, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Provides policy guidance and interpretations. Gives feedback regarding the development and implementation of policies. Partners with leaders to resolve employee relations issues. Ensures that investigations are thorough and objective. Partners with leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase retention and foster positive employee-employer relationships Conducts exit interviews. Manages unemployment claims and represents the organization at unemployment hearings. Administers the FMLA in accordance with Federal and State laws. Tracks employee’s use of FMLA time against their entitlement and notifies employees when their leave expires. 

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS |  Conducts benefits orientations and ensures that employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions. Answers benefit questions and resolve employee issues. Helps research and determine best benefits and structure for employees at the most economical cost. Acts as a liaison with insurance carries and assists with open enrollment.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and two (2) or more years of experience in human resources. Must be willing to achieve PHR or SHRM-CP within first year of employment.
  • Payroll experience required, Paylocity experience preferred.
  • Proficient skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrates excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities, facilitate business processes and work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to foster positive and professional relationships with employees and all external stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrates excellent problem-solving, analytical, and creative-thinking skills.
  • Strong leader with the ability to work with and influence others.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Valid driver’s license to travel to other branch locations.
