The Mountain Views School District (MVSD) Nutrition Program seeks a dedicated and experienced leader to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the MVSD school nutrition program, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while promoting healthy school meals across the school district. This position requires strong leadership skills, an understanding of local and seasonal food procurement, large-scale meal preparation from scratch, and the ability to collaborate effectively. The director employs exemplary leadership and communication skills to maintain healthy morale, resolve operational issues, and build strong working relationships with school nutrition staff, principals, teachers, students, vendors, farmers, and all MVSU administrative staff.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, an individual must possess any combination of experience and education that would ensure being able to meet and fulfill job requirements: a bachelor’s degree or higher in food and nutrition preferred, or food or nutrition-related field.
A minimum of 3 years experience in food service management with an emphasis on a sustainable model that includes menu planning, food procurement, staff training and supervision, and serving nutritious, tasty, and appealing from-scratch meals in a commercial or institutional environment, preferably including experience with USDA Child Nutrition Standards and compliance.
