JOB TITLE: House Manager
DEPARTMENT: Residential
SUPERVISED BY: Director of Residential Programs
WORK STATUS: Full-Time (40 hours)

JOB PURPOSE: The Moultrie County Beacon is a nonprofit organization that empowers people with disabilities to make informed decision regarding their life choices. JOB DUTIES:

  • Monitor all individuals residing in the CILA, ensuring that all are safe and in good health
  • Provide active treatment to all persons dwelling in the CILA home
  • Ensure all directives and programs are implemented as stated in the consumer’s habilitation plan
  • Assure each consumer access to recreational, educational, and social activities
  • Note progress on all programs on a daily and monthly basis
  • Assist with and ensure the completion of all household chores to maintain a clean and safe home environment
  • Assist with planning, implementation, and documentation of activities and community outings
  • Assist with household and personal shopping for CILA home and consumers
  • Complete staff schedules on a monthly basis and schedule coverage for staff time off, sick days, as well as ensuring day coverage on holidays
  • Ensure that all Safety, Fire, and Hazard plans are implemented on all shifts monthly
  • Ensure that Consumer Advisory Board (CAB) meetings are completed monthly
  • Complete an environmental checklist quarterly
  • Review consumer rights on a quarterly basis
  • Attend all mandatory meetings, in-services, and consumers’ staffings
  • Complete all monthly paperwork before the deadlines
  • Participate in completing Performance Evaluations for CILA staff
  • Communicate with upper management about disciplinary matters as they occur
  • Turn in all house bills, charges, and rent and cost of care checks in a timely manner
  • Responsible for handling consumers’ finances
  • Communicate agency memos to staff in a timely manner
  • Respond to all on-call pages
  • Perform other management duties as assigned

ABILITIES / SKILLS

  • Relate effectively with disabled persons

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of confidentiality
  • Work collaboratively as a team
  • Ability to pass a drug screen/background check
  • Represent the Agency in a positive and professional manner

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1 years’ experience working with the developmentally disabled population required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance required
  • Experience managing a team preferred

TRAINING:

  • Paid training at the rate of $19.76/per hour until completion
  • 30 day introductory period
  • 2 weeks of classroom training
  • 80 hours of On-the-Job training (OJTs)
  • Medication Administration training: $0.25/hour raise upon successful completion
  • 2 day House Manager specific training
