Who We Are

We are a dedicated team passionate about providing support for youth who are vulnerable and have experienced significant adversity and trauma in their lives. Our Behavioral rehabilitation services (BRS) program is on the South Hill in Spokane, WA is home to up to 23 kids between the 6-13 years, and we have been supporting youth since 1957! Agricultural programming is included in our program with the opportunity to work with the kids with horses, goats, chickens, gardening and more.

Job Summary:

Provide therapy and case management for BRS adolescents in a residential care facility environment.

Therapist/Associate Therapist job duties will include but are not limited to:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Provides individual, family, and group counseling to children and adults.
  • Gathers and analyzes information on clients through a variety of methods that may include observation, interviews, self-report inventories, group discussions, and/or formal assessments.
  • Identifies problematic behavioral, communication, and relationship patterns.
  • Guides clients to develop plans to positively manage and respond to issues; assists clients with replacing unhealthy or dysfunctional behaviors with healthy choices.
  • Assists clients in developing new or strengthened communication skills and methods.
  • Diagnoses and applies appropriate treatments for psychological disorders.
  • Maintains Washington state professional license per Department of Health standards.
  • Completes clinical documentation in a timely manner, as trained, per license and insurance standards.
  • Maintains general knowledge of community resources to assist clients as appropriate.
  • Participates in case consultations and collaborative meetings with clinical colleagues.
  • Participate in staff meetings, case consultations, and staff training sessions. Coordinate and lead/facilitate monthly CFTMs.

Requirements

  • Effective, professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Compassionate and empathetic with a strong ability to establish and build trust
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Ability to remain calm and reassuring in tense situations . 
  • Thorough understanding of human behavior, various behavioral and affective disorders, and the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of these disorders
  • Organizational skills required to manage complex, deadline-driven paperwork, including billing and insurance claims.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Thorough understanding of applicable ethical codes and standards.

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s in social work or closely related field.
  • Current Washington state associate licensure (LICSWA, LMHCA, LMFTA).
  • One year of clinical experience in the mental health field (internship may be counted).
  • One year of residential experience (internship may be counted).
