Monarch Hotel and Conference Center is Hiring a Human Resource Manager (FT) Near Clackamas, OR

Responsible for all activities of a human resource nature which support the operational areas of the hotel. Follow all appropriate policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve all standards of operation for Monarch Hotel.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Basic High School education with some college preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in H/R field required - previous Hotel experience preferred.
  • Well organized with ability to formulate and present written and verbal communications effectively.
  • Ability to work well with the public and deal tactfully and effectively with people and their programs.
  • Be familiar with Oregon State and Federal employment guidelines, statutes and wage and hour laws, payroll and worker’s comp.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, lift up to 50 lbs. and sit for long periods of time.
  • Must maintain a tactful, courteous and cooperative attitude when dealing with guests, managers and peers.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 40 plus hours weekly.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Recruit, interview, check references and be part of the hiring decision on employment candidates.
  • Provide orientation to all new employees.
  • Conduct exit interviews if applicable.
  • Create and maintain all employee files.
  • Update employee maintenance for payroll.
  • Coordinate and monitor evaluation processes of all employees.
  • Enforce personnel activity in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as state and federal law.
  • Assure confidentiality and security of all personnel and payroll information.
  • Maintain availability of all personnel forms for employees and department heads.
  • Assist department heads in proper documentation concerning disciplinary action, evaluations and recognition.
  • Oversee "Employee of the Month/Quarter" and award functions.
  • Assure positive communication between personnel, employees and department heads.
  • Coordinate Safety Program for the hotel while complying with state of Oregon and OSHA laws.
  • Process, follow-up and maintain all communication on workers compensation claims.
  • Administer all employee benefit programs.
  • Monitor unemployment insurance and represent the hotel in all contested claims.
  • Conduct and monitor all manager and employee training courses.
  • Attend H/R related seminars.
  • Assist in office with any other duties requested by the VP of Operations, General Manager or Controller.
  • Conduct criminal and / or credit background checks and assist in making appropriate hiring decision based on results.

Rate of Pay - $55-65 annual - based on experience
