About the Summer Internship Program

The Summer Internship Program provides undergraduate and graduate students and beginning professionals with practical experience in a specific area of museum work at The Museum of Modern Art. Each Tuesday, interns participate in professional development activities designed to increase understanding of the Museum’s various collections, exhibitions, and departments. The Museum hosts approximately 25 interns per season in just about every department. Participants may arrange for academic credit through their school, but it is not a requirement.

MoMA Summer 2024 internships require a commitment of five days per week. The schedule for the five days is 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. One must have a minimum of two years of college completed (or equivalent) by June 2024 in order to apply.

All summer applications are due on Wednesday, April 10 by 11:59 PM EST.

Department Projects & Tasks

The intern will be supporting the Museum's Communications staff with a robust season of press events. Assisting with television and documentary shoots at the Museum. Tracking and archiving press clips related to the Museum. Overseeing maintenance of press contact database and the Museum's archive system. Assisting the Communications staff with projects throughout the season to support the department's outreach to press.

Department Requirements

Experience with Google Drive, Muckrack, Cision, or similar programs is a plus, but not required.
