Mom n Tot Spot is Hiring an Instructor For Mommy And Me Classes And Activities Near Englewood, NJ

Mom N Tot Spot in Englewood, NJ is looking for one instructor for mommy and me classes and activities to join our 5 person strong team. We are located on 155 N Dean St. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and engaged.

Position Overview:

As a Play Activity Mommy and Me Instructor, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and leading interactive play sessions for toddlers and their caregivers (typically mothers, but may include fathers, grandparents, or other family members). Your role is to create a welcoming and engaging environment where both toddlers and caregivers can bond, socialize, and participate in developmentally stimulating activities together.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Design:

  • Develop creative and age-appropriate play activities suitable for parents (or caregivers) and children in the Mommy and Me program.
  • Plan and organize themed sessions that encompass various developmental areas, including sensory play, music and movement, arts and crafts, and group games.

Activity Facilitation:

  • Lead and guide parents and children through play activities, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience.
  • Provide clear instructions and demonstrations, encouraging active participation and interaction between parents and children.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes parent-child bonding and socialization.

Parent/Caregiver Engagement:

  • Communicate effectively with parents, providing guidance on facilitating play at home and promoting developmental milestones.
  • Encourage parent/caregiver participation, fostering a sense of community and shared experiences among the group.
  • Address parent questions or concerns and provide resources for further learning.
  1. Child Development Focus:
  • Incorporate developmental milestones and age-appropriate learning objectives into play activities.
  • Observe and assess children's behavior and developmental progress, providing feedback and guidance to parents as needed.

Classroom Management:

  • Manage the class environment to ensure a safe, clean, and organized space for play activities.
  • Establish and communicate class rules and expectations to promote a positive and respectful atmosphere.

Continuous Learning and Development:

  • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in early childhood development and parent-child programs.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional and facilitation skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in designing and leading parent-child play activities.
  • Understanding of child development and the importance of play in early childhood.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with both parents and children.
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and a passion for fostering positive parent-child relationships.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
