The Headlines:

In the position of Payroll Manager based in Milwaukee, you will be responsible for leading the payroll team resources to anticipate and deliver necessary support and execution of the US/North America payroll operations and the governance of all US/North America time solutions.

This position reports to the Hire to Retire Tower Lead in our Global Business Services (GBS) shared service model and works closely with a team of direct reports as well as the Human Resources team (HR Business Partners, Total Rewards), Finace, Legal, IT, etc. on management of the payroll operations, providing input and guidance as necessary.

The Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively both within GBS and with business stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of routine and non-routine payroll activities
  • Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures around the US/North America payroll and time processes, including all related accounting and control standards
  • Leads month-end closing, reporting, forecasting and budgeting activities
  • Interprets, understands and applies payroll statutes, laws, rules and regulations
  • Is the Subject Matter Expert of all US/NA payroll and time projects
  • Sets and leads the US/NA payroll processing strategy and approach, providing leadership and strategic vision
  • Champions the continuous improvement mindset for all team members
  • Leads the migration of additional payroll activities into the shared service center with a customer service mindset
  • Coaches others to challenge the status quo in order to eliminate inefficiency and improve end to end processes by being a strong leader, driving change, and demonstrating effective influence

The Other Qualifications:

  • You have a relative 4-year degree, preferably in Finance/Accounting, HR, Business Administration, or a related feel
  • You have at least 5 years of progressive management leadership experience and payroll experience; preferred that you have experience with Canada payroll
  • You embody a client service mindset, operating as a business partner to deliver tactical and strategic solutions.
  • You can translate Payroll/Time practices into simple, repeatable ways of working and business solutions
  • You can manage competing priorities among several stakeholders with the ability to exhibit diplomacy and tact to diffuse high tension situations.
  • You possess excellent communication skills and are able to collaborate across functions
