Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer (#SS-1017)

Level: Specialist

What You Will Own:

• Design, develop, and implement sophisticated manufacturing processes for the company’s important product reliability and manufacturing related efforts.
• Optimize manufacturing and service processes for complex systems in order to sustain the growth of current device manufacturing lines.
• Conduct research and identify requirements to develop complex manufacturing processes.
• Evaluate and understand sophisticated manufacturing methods, product design, fabrication, and materials testing.
• Confer with vendors and experts and work directly with manufacturing partners to establish and confirm manufacturing process standards.
• Support efforts to transition development initiatives to feasible and scalable manufacturing solutions internally and externally with contract manufacturing partners.
• Present information to cross-functional teams.
• Ensure product and process quality by testing finished product and process capabilities, establishing standards, and implementing change control processes.
• Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, estimating future requirements, and successfully implementing strategic initiatives.
• Propose and manage design of experiments (DOEs) to develop and verify process improvements.
• Use LEAN principles in improving productivity and throughput of the repair, customer order fulfillment, and production lines.
• Work closely with Test Engineering and Quality Assurance (QA) to develop test plans and methods and specify and qualify relevant equipment at manufacturing lines.
• Responsible for mapping manufacturing value-stream and managing material flow through manufacturing lines within company PLM and ERP systems.

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field.
• Three years of experience in manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, or industrial engineering (to include all relevant job titles within the occupations).
• Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field and five years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, or industrial engineering (to include all relevant job titles within the occupations) in lieu of a Master’s degree and three years of experience.
• Work experience to include: 1. Technical project management, statistical quality and process control, and utilizing lean manufacturing techniques. 2. Integrated machine failure mode analysis, troubleshooting, and identifying and implementing solutions. 3. Working with LEAN, DOE, 5S, and Value stream mapping. 4. Manufacturing process design, analysis, and implementation, including SOP development, safety analysis, output data collection, KPI development, and using statistical techniques for optimization. 5. End-to-end manufacturing line design and sizing, to include personnel, equipment, safety requirements, and line balancing for optimal output.
