Mohenis Services, Inc. is Hiring an Accounts Payable Supervisor Near Petersburg, VA

Accounts Payable / Accounting Supervisor

Great opportunity with a regional family-owned and professionally managed company, serving the hospitality and healthcare markets since 1934. This position will support the Controller and Assistant Controller in carrying out and managing the responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and expense reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with company's policies and procedures
  • Manages the check disbursements, mailing, and document/record retention
  • Analyzes and remediates payment issues in response to supplier and/or business unit inquiries
  • Reconciles supplier's statements
  • Ensures payment credits are applied correctly
  • Assists with monthly closing process and communication with the accounting department
  • Provides financial, administrative and clerical support by ensuring payments are completed and expense accounts are charged by cost center
  • Prepare accounting related entries to numerous registers, journals and logs
  • Performs monthly and annual reconciliations, understand, and resolve accounting postings issues
  • Manages the annual Form 1099 reporting and distribution process
  • Build solid relationships across all business units at various levels
  • Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required by the Controller or Assistant Controller.

Job requirements:

  • 5 years' experience in accounting or related field
  • Experience with MAS500 accounting software a plus
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships
