Summary
Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Physician-In-Chief, the Chief Medical Officer is the senior supervising physician within the medical staff structure. As such, the CMO provides senior leadership to Assistant Chief Medical Officers (CMOs), Clinical Service Chiefs, Hospital and Clinic Medical Directors, and Medical Staff Affairs. This position is the primary liaison between these groups, the medical staff and hospital management including risk management and patient relations.
The CMO will also collaborate with the Chief Quality Officer to ensure that Moffitt delivers the highest quality of care for its patients. In addition, the CMO partners with the VP Ambulatory and Virtual Operations to supervise outpatient operations and to develop and implement Moffitt's Virtual Health strategy as well as providing executive medical leadership for clinical capacity and expansion efforts including satellites, hospital and alternative service models.
