POSITION: Porter / Entry Level Maintenance Technician

This is an entry level position intended to provide the needed knowledge and experience to become a competent maintenance technician.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clean the grounds daily of any trash or debris.
• Assist with moving heavy items such as appliances.
• Assist with work on Vacant units and Make-Ready for new tenants in a timely and efficient manner.
• Diagnose and perform minor and routine maintenance/repair involving the following (as applicable): Electrical switches and fixtures, basic plumbing, Kitchen appliances, door locks, simple carpentry, and basic drywall.
• Assist with service requests as needed.
• Report all major repairs to supervisor.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or Property Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Basic repair skills.
• Working knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing systems (sinks, toilets, light fixtures, etc.)
• Experience using hand tools.
• Experience with drywall, paint, and basic carpentry (preferred)
• Self Motivated.
• Works equally as well as a team or alone with little supervision.
• Good communication skills.
• Willing to learn.
• Task oriented.
• Accepts direction and correction well.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
