As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Newport/MKS Instruments, you will partner with Engineering to manage Manufacturing Engineering, Advanced Engineering and Change Management support teams. In this role, you will report to the Sr. Director, Manufacturing/Operations.

You Will Make an Impact By (Responsibilities):

• Managing Manufacturing Engineering, Advanced Engineering and Change Management support teams
• Developing manufacturing strategies in support of Product Development.
• Accountable for monitoring, maintaining, and improving operational and COPQ performance of Laser products manufactured in US, Singapore, China and Thailand.
• Accountable for maintaining manufacturing process documentation such as Operational Method Sheets, BOMs, and Routings. Lead development of plans to improve product quality, process robustness, reduce variances, and improve yield.
• Accountable for completing work packages in support of Phase Gate reviews for Product Development.
• Proactively leading or participating on Lean/Kaizen teams.
• Implementing continuous improvement programs to reduce cost, and improve quality, improve yield and delivery performance on both newly released and existing products.
• Reviewing and updating manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and develop budgets for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
• Implementing and analyze Manufacturing Engineering plans and projects to local on-site manufacturing and manufacturing partners.
• Expected to travel internationally in support of manufacturing projects (20%).

Skills You Bring: (Required Skills)

• B.S. or M.S in science or engineering related field
• 5 years experience laser manufacturing
• Develop and promote a culture of collaboration and business transparency.
• Promote high standards of workmanship defined by proper procedures and process while maintaining safety.
• Exceptional curiosity to learn new things to make the entire organization better.
• Ability to manage a team and drive success-based goals

Preferred Skills:

• 2 years experience supervisory/management of a manufacturing engineering team, preferred
• Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing and implementation; Green Belt or Black Belt preferred

Salary Pay Range: $132,900 to 258,600 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
