ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assist and collaborate with the Manager to ensure that the store operations meet their budget.
• Assist the Manager in developing sales strategies and executes them.
• Assist buyers in procurement of the merchandises.
• Propose cultural sales strategies.
• Search for an excellent VMD (Visual Merchandising Display) and executes it.
• Propose sales events.
• Use guest feedback to improve store operations.
• Infuse every aspect of sales activities and guest contacts with spirit of OMOTENASHI (Japanese way of hospitality)
• Observe the legal and regulatory requirements for product warranties and safety in collaboration with Manager of Safety and Facilities.
• Keep the store clean.
• Let the employees understand that it can be first and last encounter with Japanese Culture for majority of visitors of the store.
• Coach & mentor employees to improve and grow while making magical moments for the guests.
• Determines what information, skills, and trainings are needed to ensure each and every guest has a “touching” and “moving” experience at our store.
• Evaluate employees as necessity arises.
• Review the performance of responsible sections against the budget and take aggressive corrective actions if needed.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Develop training programs in collaboration with the managers of the store and Human Resources and execute it.
• Follow company policies and handbook.
• Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.); or

• General knowledge of employment laws.
• Basic understanding of the Japanese culture.
• Bilingual in Japanese preferred but not required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

• Able to communicate effectively in English with supervisors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
• Able to work effectively and relate well with others Including supervisors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
• Able to do basic arithmetic which includes subtraction, addition, division, multiplication and counting of items. The employee must also be able to analyze and solve simple problems.
• Able to read and comprehend written information in English.
• Able to handle emergency situations
• Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office software, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

As assistant manager of Store, you will work together with the Store manager to create a culturally authentic Japanese store where we can provide exceptional Japanese hospitality (Omotenashi) to our guests. You will inspire and motivate our cast members who are from Japan by teaching and coaching them out on the sales floor. You will encourage success and learning opportunities within your team.
