Located in Columbia, Missouri, Missouri Public Utility Alliance (MPUA) is seeking candidates for a full-time Operator position working in energy markets. This position ensures that all electric and natural gas customer demand is met, around-the-clock, in the most economic and efficient manner while adhering to operating system constraints and industry and regulatory guidelines.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Business, or related technical field; or associate degree with four years related experience. Demonstrated interpersonal skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Position will adhere to impending deadlines, perform in fast paced competitive environment. Analytical skills will be needed to properly assess complex technical and economic variables to make fast and accurate decisions. Minimize member costs through administrations of the Agency’s wholesale power agreements and optimization of generation and transmission assets in day ahead and real time energy markets. Ensure that actions are in full compliance with applicable standards, regulatory requirement sand the agency’s risk policy.
Will work 12-hour night shifts, including some weekends. Starting salary is $35.67/hour ($74,207 annually) and also receives a 5% shift differential and overtime. Outstanding day one benefit package featuring full family health, dental, vision, life insurance, and long-term disability paid by MPUA!
