Job Summary: The Staff Accountant will be an integral part of the accounting function at Mission Veterinary Partners. You will be responsible for multiple facets of the general ledger and related reconciliation and reporting activities. Essential Functions:

• Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.

• Prepare and record transactions by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts and subsidiary ledgers by verifying transactions and resolving discrepancies.
• Review and post monthly, quarterly or yearly accruals.
• Collaborate with accounting team members to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and account balances
• Participate in the annual audit
• Evaluate current procedures and recommend changes to improve efficiency
• Pursue other value-added activities to support operational and departmental excellence
• Assist and participate in cross-functional teams and projects

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Exceptional Microsoft Excel experience
• Ability to work in an autonomous, fast moving environment
• Ability to analyze and problem solve strategically

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Experience with Blackline reconciliations a plus

Required Education and Experience:

• BA/BS degree from a four-year university with a concentration in Finance or Accounting

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of professional work experience in Finance or Accounting positions

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
