Minnesota Autism Center is Hiring a Chief Development Director Near Minnetonka, MN

The Chief Development Director has strategic and operational responsibility for the Development Department which serves to support MAC’s mission through philanthropic funding from a variety of sources. As a member of the executive leadership team and reporting directly to the CEO, this position collaborates with the board of directors, foundation board, and key donors and members of the community.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Define and prioritize the fund development objectives of MAC, in close collaboration with the executive team, CEO, and boards
  • Develop and implement a donor-centered fundraising approach that builds strong relationships with donors, emphasizes the organization’s mission and impact, and encourages donor engagement and investment.
  • Develop and maintain a donor recognition program that celebrates and acknowledges donors’ contributions to the organization
  • Ensure the timely and accurate acknowledgement of all gifts and donations and the proper stewardship of donor relationships
  • Work with the CEO and Board of Directors to develop and maintain a robust donor pipeline
  • Lead MAC’s fundraising efforts in the areas of grants, foundations and corporations, donor communications, and special events
  • Develop and monitor the development budget; working with the Foundation Board and any Board Committees
  • Actively recruit foundation board members with and continue to grow MAC’s foundation
  • Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, working collaboratively with the CEO and other senior leaders to develop and implement the organization’s strategic plan and vision.
  • Provide regular updates to the CEO and Board of Directors on fundraising progress and challenges and make recommendations for course correction as needed.
  • Represent the organization in public forums and develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to advance the organization’s mission and goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience, or directly applicable commensurate experience, in similar positions including successfully securing major gifts from donors, general non-profit development experience, public relations and communications, sales and volunteer and staff management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to successfully and consistently solicit and obtain donations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and cultivate positive relationships with foundations, corporations, local businesses, churches, individual donor prospects and volunteers.
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail in order to manage many different tasks and strategies simultaneously.
  • Ability to provide accurate and timely reports to the funders, and organization leadership.
  • Ability to model respectful and inclusive behavior consistent with MAC’s mission.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets and prepare financial reports.
  • Effective knowledge of appropriate technology and software to communicate effectively in print and electronically.
  • Ability to contribute to MAC as a leader and team member.
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities and ensure accountability.
