Milwaukee Environmental Sciences Academy (MESA), a charter school of the Milwaukee Teacher Education Center (MTEC), is a year-round education charter school, serving grades K4 through 8th grade. MESA is an Expeditionary Learning (EL) school that provides students with a holistic program of learning and development, with an emphasis on environmental sciences and healthy lifestyles in line with the Common core and Wisconsin State Standards. MESA Staff demonstrate a strong commitment to achieving results through the creative use of resources, involving parents in the education process, integrating Expeditionary Learning model practices, rigorous academic programs and targeted interventions so students become self-directed learners prepared for college and career success. Successful candidates will have strong skills in the following areas: Establishing a positive learning environment and classroom management; an aptitude for the work to be performed and an interest in children and education; emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved; proactive leadership to engage all stakeholders, families and colleagues. Responsibilities: * Assist, support, and work closely with teachers, administrators, and other team members in providing educational benefits for students; * Assist in monitoring and supervising effective classroom and school-wide structures that promote positive student behavior and safety; * Support an orderly, academically-focused classroom environment and effective management of instructional materials and records; * Frequent communication with students and families to provide clear information about progress; * Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the facilitator and classroom teachers; * Participate in regular and ongoing professional development efforts and work collaboratively to constantly improve professional practice; * Participate fully and positively in a staff culture and the relentless pursuit of our mission.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22,600.00 - $35,000.00 per year
