Miller, Kistler & Campbell is Hiring an Office Coordinator Near State College, PA

Miller, Kistler & Campbell is seeking an ambitious person to join our team, working directly with the senior partners on the management of the firm’s financial and business operations. This individual should have experience in financial matters such as accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll, as well as operational matters such as vendor management and oversight. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

What We Are Offering:

Miller, Kistler & Campbell is Centre County’s oldest law firm, having opened our doors in 1893. In the more than 130 years since then, we have grown to become a general practice firm, operating in areas such as estates and estate planning, real estate, civil litigation, and municipal and public entity representation. We have offices in State College and Bellefonte. This position will operate out of the State College office. We are looking for a leader who can operate as the point person on all things financial - budgeting, accounting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and insurance among other tasks as may be reasonably assigned. The accounting manager may also be responsible for certain vendor management tasks. We value experience and education, but we also value a willingness to learn and grow into the position and its assigned duties.

Office Coordinator Job Responsibilities:

  • Establishes financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information.
  • Achieves accounting operational objectives by contributing accounting information and recommendations; preparing and completing action plans; resolving problems; and coordinating payroll with the firm’s third-party payroll service.
  • Meets accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Confirms financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; and preparing special reports.
  • Maintains accounting controls by establishing a chart of accounts and defining accounting policies and procedures.
  • Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls.
  • Accomplishes accounting and management mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Experience with law firm operations and an ability to occasionally assist with legal tasks, such as assisting with real estate closings, is a plus but not required.
  • Organizes and implements the purchase and/or lease of office supplies and equipment

This position is full-time in our State College office. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each working day, with the exclusion of holidays.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience
