Responsibilities

Millennium Corporation is hiring a Proposal Writer to support our Business Development and Proposal Teams. This position is remote with occasional travel to the Corporate HQ in Arlington, VA. 

The selected candidate will:

• Develop compelling and compliant content that meets solicitation guidelines and corporate standards in support of federal and DoD government RFPs and other related products.
• Obtain a deep understanding of Millennium solutions and services to translate complex technical information into simple, polished, and engaging content.
• Contribute to and support the maintenance of Millennium’s content library/repository and other BD/proposal databases.
• Evaluate existing content and develop innovative approaches for improvement.
• Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements.
• Independently gather information from subject matter experts, external stakeholders, leadership, and others—through interviews, data calls, etcetera—to develop, organize, and write proposal response, white papers, and other documentation (e.g., RFI responses, capability statements, past performance, technical and management approaches) as required.
• Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation.
• Work with SMEs, solution architects, capture managers, and proposal team to interpret technical requirements, establishing technical understanding based on corporate capabilities.
• Ability to conceptualize appropriate, relevant graphics and tables to support the solution.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of industry experience (preferably in the DoD / federal government market) as an effective proposal writer and editor with some experience in technical writing / editing.
• Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.
• Previous experience writing proposals and technical documentation materials for multiple audiences.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to interact and work and collaborate with a diverse team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required, with experience in Microsoft Teams and SharePoint a plus.
• Basic graphics design and development is a plus.
• Candidates based in the Washington, D.C., metro area preferred.
• Shipley/APMP certification or coursework highly desired.

Business Development

Assist with Business Development activities as required to support Millennium's strategic business objectives, which may include but not limited to participation in technical interviews, creation of technical documentation, general proposal writing support and proposal color reviews.

Physical Requirements

• Must be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at a time.
