The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of duties. This will include helping to repair and maintain our production equipment as well as tasks to repair and maintain our buildings. It is important that you know and follow safety protocols and use productive maintenance systems and processes to ensure the best care for our business. We will evaluate starting pay based on experience.

What You Will Do:

• Assist with emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
• Assist in diagnosing problems, replacing or repairing parts, testing, and making adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Maintain a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when the next service is due.
• Work safely and recognize unsafe situations. Take appropriate action to ensure the safety of yourself and others in the building.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days depend on business needs.
• After successful training, you will be required to work an evening shift.
• Monday - Friday.
• 8 HR Shift.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• 1 or more years of relevant manufacturing maintenance experience; hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC.
• Experience doing maintenance in a similar type of environment (mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance).

You will be working with a team. The ability to communicate and get along with others will make you successful in this position. You should be able to read and follow written and verbal directions. This is a very active position and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. You will frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
