The salary range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00 / hour.

Facilities Maintieance Mechanic 1 - Aurora, CO

Purpose

Preventatively maintains the facilities while providing support to internal customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Inspects, adjusts and repairs building and facilities equipment and maintains records of these activities.

· Aids in maintaining a continuous program of preventative maintenance on all equipment.

· Creates a safe working enviroment with an emphasis on long term fixes and quality.

· Custodial duties ranging from wall repair to snow removal.

· Plumbing repairs

· Participates in machine repairs as needed. May be required to drive company vehicle for supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High School or GED required. Trade School preferred.

Experience

1 to 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Experience and understanding of AC electrical systems, pneumatic systems, plumbing, pipe-fitting, fire life safety, HVAC, concrete repair, welding and troubleshooting.

· Problem-solving abilities

· Ability to work well with a team as well as independently

· Ability to use a multi-meter, amp-meter and oscilloscope

· Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Language Skills

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words in English and recognized similarities and difference between words and between series of number. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and reach with arms and hands. Standing for 8 hours and frequent walking required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually high, proper protective equipment is required.
