Position:
Senior level test lab technician needed for a small manufacturer of military power supplies, recently awarded major, long term military production contracts.
Note: This is production environment position, not an engineering level position
Work duties:
1) Test subassembly PWA's and top assemblies using test procedures, test fixtures and manual electronic bench equipment.
2) Troubleshoot PWA's to component level as required.
3) Assist in failure analysis of customer returned product as required.
4) Program micro-controllers on production PWA's with production release firmware, using programming tools as required.
5) Fill out test data sheets with test data and serial number information.
6) Fill out manufacturing travelers with necessary rework instructions and mark completion of test steps.
7) Fill out non-conforming material reports as required, as the result of correcting
problems with PWA assemblies.
8) Coordinate testing, rework, and paperwork completion requirements with operation manager, production manager and quality manager, as required.
9) Place finished top assemblies into burn-in room and record required burn-in data.
10) Run temperature chamber testing on finished top assemblies as required.
Required Technical Skills:
1) Ability to read electronic schematics, parts lists, and assembly drawings.
2) Knowledge of basic electronic components including resistors, capacitors, inductors, transformers, discrete small signal and power semiconductors, as well as analog and digital IC's.
3) Knowledge of basic electrical and electronic theory involving AC and DC voltage, current, power, resistance, impedance, and circuit computations involving these quantities.
4) Knowledge of basic mixed signal analog electronics: Linear op-amps, comparators,
transistors, mosfets, and digital electronics.
6) Skill in manual testing and troubleshooting of mixed signal analog and digital hardware down to the component level.
7) Ability to assist in the construction and debugging of special test fixtures as required.
8) Knowledge and skill in operating manual bench test equipment such as DVM's, oscilloscopes, lab bench power supplies, electronic loads, and signal generators.
Required Non-Technical Skills:
1) Basic Windows computer and file management skills.
2) Ability to use Microsoft Office, and read Adobe Acrobat files.
3) Reasonable ability to proficiently read, write and speak English.
Non-native candidates for whom English is a second language will be considered,
provided their English proficiency is adequate to full-fill required job duties.
4) Demonstrated ability to share, collaborate, and work in a team environment.
Demonstration of the proper attitude and personality profile toward teamwork.
"Prima-Donna" candidates with an unacceptable attitude in this area will not be considered for the position.
Required Qualifications, Education and Experience:
1) Minimum 3 years electronic test bench experience. 5 years experience or more preferred.
2) Minimum 2 year or 4 year trade school or college education.
3) Successfully pass a written and/or oral evaluation test and interview on site.
Training Classes:
1) Ability to participate in training classes as required to review basic power and mixed signal analog electronics, learn theory of operation and step-by-step troubleshooting down to the component level.
Probationary Period:
1) A six month probationary period is required to determine whether the accepted candidate can successfully fulfill the above requirements

Pay: $32.00 - $35.50 per hour
