Military/Aerospace Company is Hiring an Electronics Production Manager with Technical Background Near Carson, CA

We are seeking a motivated, energetic, people oriented electronics production manager with a strong technical/engineering background to join our success-driven company in Carson, California. Our company designs and manufactures small volumes of custom Defense Power Supply systems and modules. This candidate must have knowledge and experience in military standards and tests. They will manage up to 25 people, report all production functions to management, control sub-contractors and outside services, seek to increase efficiency and productivity, and be able to develop/control BOMs, sub-assembly kitting and internal workflows. This candidate must demonstrate strong production management experience and leadership capabilities and hold a BE/BS degree or equivalent in electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering. They will be responsible for critiquing/improving and upgrading existing production operations, manufacturing techniques, training programs, detailed work instructions/process procedures, tooling, fixturing and production controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the planning-scheduling-manufacturing-inventory operations to achieve target finished goods and customer schedules.
  • Perform time and motion studies and understand ERP systems to estimate plan costs, schedules, purchases and monitor materials and components required for production.
  • Monitor-record daily productivity rates against time expenditures required to complete production operations and seek cost improvement activities, quality improvements and safety awareness.
  • Work with Quality Assurance and Engineering to develop, maintain and enforce ISO9001 required practices and procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Expedite/change the flow of materials, parts and product assembly based on changes to production and shipping schedules.
  • Accountable for creating, maintaining, and communicating production schedules.
  • Knowledgeable in implementing a barcoded work traveler system to track project progress, report daily status and effect changes to plan, manufacturing work-around recoveries and documentation.
  • Able to prepare labor, material, tooling and equipment cost estimates for proposals.
  • Work closely with design engineering to improve the manufacturability of company products.
  • Generate department NCR reports to measure and improve internal acceptability.
  • Responsible for the monitoring, tracking and moving of all parts from inventory through the production flow and final testing processes to ensure timely delivery.
  • Ensure parts and finished products are handled and protected under ESD standards and observe the proper handling, packing and final packaging within company specifications.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • BE/BS degree or equivalent in electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering. 5 or more years of key electronics technical experience may be substituted in some technologies, in lieu of degree.
  • 3 years hands on production management experience in an electronics / aerospace / power supply manufacturing environment required.
  • Experienced in the Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001.
  • Knowledge of remanufacturing policies and procedures required with experience in electronic repair and troubleshooting to the board/component level.
  • Must have intermediate computer skills including MS Office tools, and Project Management software as well as the ability to process numbers quickly to produce charts, control documents, and work instructions.
  • Must exhibit strong interpersonal skills, team building, and leadership characteristics (Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus).
  • Must be assertive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Exposure to electrical test instruments (DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Power Analyzers, etc.)

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 with Shipping Incentives
