Military/Aerospace Company is Hiring a Production Supervisor, Electronics Near Carson, CA

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated, success driven, people-oriented electronics production supervisor to join our manufacturing company in Carson, California, in the building of small volumes of custom designed Defense/Aerospace Power Supply systems and modules. This candidate should be knowledgeable and understand military standards and tests.

This position is responsible for supervising all aspects of our electronics assembly department, including training, motivating, disciplining and evaluating staff. The candidate is expected to be able to improve production methods and processes in meeting production goals. They will manage 20-40 people and will be responsible for critiquing/improving and upgrading existing production operations, manufacturing techniques, training programs, detailed work instructions-control processes-documentation, tooling, fixturing, material BOMs, sub-assembly kitting, internal workflows and shipping schedules and follow company safety standards and policies.

Responsibilities:

· Organize and prioritize workload for employees on a daily basis with direction from management.

· Assists in training assemblers or associates. Leads by example, to reinforce compliance with established processes and practices.

· Provide objective input on employee performance to management for use in performance appraisals.

· Develop test/assembly work instructions and forms.

· Review assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and parts list to identify and inform project management of needed changes.

· Inspect electronic assemblies to IPC-A-610 (latest revision).

· Electronically and mechanically assemble PCBs, electrical components, transformers, ICs, cable/harness & connectors, into sub modules and final power supply modules and systems as needed to maintain workflow

· Perform time and motion studies and understand ERP systems to estimate plan costs, schedules, purchases and monitor materials and components required for production.

· Monitor-record daily productivity rates against time expenditures required to complete production operations and seek cost improvement activities, quality improvements and safety awareness.

· Knowledgeable in implementing a barcoded work traveler system to track project progress, report daily status and effect changes to plan, manufacturing work-around recoveries and documentation.

· Able to prepare labor, material, tooling and equipment cost estimates for proposals

· Generate department NCR reports to measure and improve internal acceptability.

· Responsible for the monitoring, tracking and moving of all parts from inventory through the production flow and final testing processes to ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications:

· 8 years experience in electronic manufacturing with 3 years of “hands on” production and supervisory experience in the electronics / aerospace / power supply manufacturing industries required.

· Ability to read and understand electronic, mechanical, and power supply system schematic drawings and block diagrams.

· Soldering skills applied to surface mount and through-hole PCBAs. Experienced in manufacturing cable assemblies (wire stripping, crimping, twisted pairing, etc). IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 training or certifications are a plus.

· Ability to read schematics and board layouts for assemblies, familiarity of electronic components, ability to use programming software / equipment, soldering equipment and hand tools.

· Familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and analyzers, etc.

· Experience with Power Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Multi-Meter, Oscilloscope, etc.

· Has a “Can Do” attitude with an ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal oversite. Willing to work overtime or extra hours as needed.

· Experience with the Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001.

· Must have intermediate computer skills including MS Office tools, and Project Management software as well as the ability to process numbers quickly to produce charts, control documents, and work instructions.

· Must exhibit strong interpersonal skills, team building, and leadership characteristics (Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus).

Salary: 50K - 75K with shipping Incentives

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
