Shift 3 (United States of America) Position Summary: Milacron is looking for a Polisher to join our team in McPherson, KS. As a Polisher you will be responsible for… Work You’ll Do: Verify correct product using job traveler to set-up and operate a variety of machinery to blueprint specifications, reading part drawing with sectional views. Achieve specified micro finishes; polish to form sharp corners, hold specified limits on I.D. using deburring tools with special cutters on a variety of production parts. Work independently; assist and train less experienced machinists to maintain plant standards in areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, 5S, housekeeping, teamwork, and attendance. Operate job-specific hand tools to manually grind and polish screws to specified measurements. Monitor inventory levels and report low levels and discrepancies to supervisor. Demonstrate personal leadership; actively participate in or lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts, recommend improvements for area product and processes. Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress or emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments. Team: A team of approximately 20 polishers working during all 3 shifts. Basic Qualifications: 1 year of related experience or training: or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or GED is preferred Technical school w/ certificate is preferred Dependable, honest, quick learner, good communication skills and team player Ability to work a flexible schedule including any days, shift, and weekends to ensure that the customer demand is met Ability to perform and interpret computer and RF functions Ability to learn new skills at a fast pace Basic computer skills Physical Demands: To perform this job successfully, the physical demands listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee.
