Mighty House is Hiring a Construction Project Manager - Residential Remodel Near Seattle, WA

Project Manager – Residential Remodel (Seattle, WA)

Mighty House Construction states that “any house can be a Mighty House” and believes sustainable building practices should be part of every building project! This full-service, general contracting company that has been in business for over 12 years, offers basic renovations to whole house remodels and additions with green building concepts and remodeling services for residents in the Greater Seattle area. We are seeking a talented and energetic Project Manager to run one to three projects at a time. It is not essential that you have substantial green/healthy building experience as long as you are a fast learner. Overtime is not encouraged and never expected – we believe in work/life balance and consider it during all of our scheduling. $2,000 signing bonus (paid out incrementally).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee residential construction projects from beginning to end.
  • “Bags on” is minimal but necessary at certain times and for certain projects.
  • Participate in budgeting and obtaining supply and trade estimates.
  • Determine the necessary equipment, materials, and person-power needed.
  • Keep track of inventory, tools and equipment (as relevant).
  • Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule.
  • Prepare daily reports regarding job status.
  • Participate in resolution of any problems that may arise.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects and key team members of the project team.
  • Plan construction operations.
  • Ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Keep all stakeholders aware of the progress on projects and prepare progress reports regularly.
  • Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards.
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures, such as proper equipment/ clothing, site safety, and COVID-19 protocols.
  • Establish good working relationship with other team members.
  • Foster positive communications and relationships with clients and vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5 years minimum experience in residential remodeling, 2 of those years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of all phases of residential remodeling.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management or another related field is a plus but not required.
  • Capable of managing several projects at a time.
  • Ability to evaluate and troubleshoot the construction challenges of remodeling older and modern homes.
  • Must have an eye for detail and the ability to evaluate for quality and appropriate construction.
  • Must have leadership skills and have the heart of a teacher.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to resolve conflicts.
  • Can manage complex relationships with homeowners, subcontractors, vendors, and officials.
  • Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and following regulations.
  • Solid technical background with understanding and hands-on experience with software programs including: Microsoft Excel/Word, Email software, Project management software – preferably BuilderTrend, CoConstruct, or the like and the ability to learn and use new software.
  • Previous experience managing budgets for construction projects, desirable.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management ability.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities, including negotiation skills.
  • Comply and maintain 100% tobacco free and drug-free job sites.
  • Proven track record of excellent attendance, punctuality, attitude, and professional demeanor.
  • Valid Washington state driver’s license, reliable transportation, and satisfactory driving record.
