Midwest Refrigerated Services, a growing refrigerated logistics company, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support the HR department with full cycle recruitment and other HR administrative functions. The HR Generalist will report directly to the HR Manager and will be located on-site in Yorkville, IL.

General Position Overview:

This position provides human resources (HR) support in areas including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, company policies and procedures; benefits, WC, training, performance management, and leaves of absence. Additionally, this role will work collaboratively with human resources team members to assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives to achieve department and corporate objectives.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
• Update company organizational chart and project list.
• Assists department in carrying out various human resource programs and procedures for all company employees.
• Full cycle recruiting for open positions.
• Conduct new hire orientations & manage the entire onboarding process.
• Support all Midwest Refrigerated Services operations with employee relations matters to include conducting investigations, preparing documentation and communicating effectively with management and employees.
• Support all Midwest Refrigerated Services operations with responding to employee inquiries and requests for assistance on a variety of matters.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• FMLA process
• Create and manage company Wellness Program
• Special projects as assigned.

Skills Required:

• Exposed to normal office environment. Will use laptop, keyboard, and monitor on a regular basis.
• Must wear all required safety equipment when visiting project/branch site.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Prerequisites:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Bilingual
• At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
• SHRM-CP a plus
• Valid driver’s license
