Midland Memorial Hospital is Hiring a Retail Food Services Manager Near Midland, TX

**This position is not Visa sponsorship eligible**

The Retail Services Manager is responsible for providing supervision of all retail food service operations to ensure customer satisfaction. The Retail Services Manager implements business practices in order to uphold the hospital’s mission and values. This individual contributes to account revenue and operating profit contribution through the implementation of service and creation of opportunities for growth.

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM; On Call Required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Directs all aspects of Midland Memorial retail food service facilities: restaurants, coffee shops, catering, holiday events, online ordering system, and employee dining operations. Delivering exceptional hospitality and culinary service for our external guests and employees
  • Directs staff on current industry trends and seeks ways to incorporate these into all sides of the department's operations to drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Evaluates department needs to ensure employees have appropriate equipment and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines.
  • Ensures all retail areas and meeting rooms are sanitary, neat and organized.
  • Monitors all cash transactions and maintains the point-of-sale register system for the department.
  • Works on generating revenue for the department through planning various retail events and new menus/programs.
  • Directs staff, enthusiastically leads, and empowers a large team of culinary professionals.
  • Ensures all staff receives customer service training and handles all complaints, concerns, and issues
  • Provides direction to department supervisors to effectively manage employee hiring, training and development, performance reviews, scheduling, payroll, purchasing, financial planning and management, quality standards, regulatory compliance, intra- and inter-departmental communications, and collaboration with other departments.
  • Actively manages by being present in dining venues and in kitchens during peak production and service times in order to gauge quality of services provided, engage guests in conversation, and provide leadership direction and support to the team.
  • Establishes safe working conditions through appropriate training and monitoring of the employee’s work.
  • Enforces food handling regulations and other guidelines to increase guest safety
  • Directs all internal and external catering experiences by coordinating with the FNS event coordinator and Catering supervisor.

1. Ensures all changes are made to catering management software as necessary.
2. Determines customer requirements and proposes catering options.
3. Maintains process to ensure inventory and locations of all catering equipment

  • Manages online ordering system and coordinates delivery to other campuses
  • Partners with the Auxiliary for fresh food sales in auxiliary retail locations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Prefer Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Foodservice Management, culinary, or a related field.
  • Certified Dietary manager (CDM) or Registered dietitian preferred (RD)
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience as a supervisor or manager in foodservice.

  • Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
