Middle Way House is Hiring a Crisis Intervention Service Program Coordinator Near Bloomington, IN

The Crisis Intervention Service Program Coordinator at Middle Way House oversees crisis intervention services from our New Wings building in Bloomington, IN. The Crisis intervention program assures immediate, trauma-informed, and empowering crisis response to survivors of sexual violence, domestic violence, and human trafficking with the following programs: our 24/7/365 help and crisis line, 24/7/365 on-scene advocacy program, and sexual assault specific support groups. Works together with the Executive Director, and the Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking (ICESAHT) to enhance and develop MWH’s Rape Crisis Center program.

**This job is part of a 24/7/365 program, which means you will be expected to work on holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.**

Position Duties:

Crisis Intervention Program Oversight

● Coordinate the Crisis Intervention (CI) programs services.

Direct Services

● Coordinate the Crisis Line Program. Take calls and web chats as needed.

● Ensure a less-than 30-minute response time for the 24/7/365 Rape Crisis Center. On-Scene Advocacy (OSA) program. Assist On-Scene Advocacy clients as needed.

● Participate in CI on-call coverage and rotation.

● Coordinate to develop, plan, and facilitate the CI program’s support groups

● Ensure CI program’s response to all Walk-In Clients seeking sexual assault support. Assist all walk-ins and residents in crisis as needed.

● Maintain confidentiality of all of our clients

● Assist with pre-service training

Conduct additional duties as necessary to fulfill Middle Way House’s mission.

Rape Crisis Center Development

● Coordinate with the Executive Director, and ICESAHT to enhance and develop MWH’s Rape Crisis Center.

● Regularly engage with ongoing education and professional development.

● Build and maintain community partnerships.

● Complete stats entry and proper program documentation as needed.

Community Work

● Assist Executive and Development Directors in planning and implementation of the annual sexual assault awareness month walk.

● Maintain an active role in Monroe County Sexual Response Team (SART), MCDVC, and Indiana University Sexual Assault Prevention Meetings.

● Provide assistance with community education, awareness, and outreach, especially throughout the month of April, Sexual Awareness Month.

Required Qualifications:

● Must be able to complete ICESAHT’s Core 40 training within 1 year of hire.

● High level of comfort and confidence with public speaking.

● Experience and comfort working with people in crisis.

● Must be highly reliable and able to work well with others.

● Familiarity with intersectional approaches to human services, and anti-oppression theories and frameworks.

● Commitment to ongoing cultural competency training and education

● Reliable transportation

Preferred/Desired

● Experience in serving or working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, and male survivors.

● Experience in working with folks in the LGBTQIA community.

● Understanding of sex work, incarceration, addiction, and recovery.

● Experience with program development and implementation

● Bilingual applicants are strongly preferred; especially ASL, Chinese, Spanish, and/or cultural competency (around religion, indigenous culture, etc)

● Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, Public Health or any social service and justice degree
