About Us
Middle Way House is dedicated to providing immediate, trauma-informed support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Our Crisis Intervention Program offers a range of services, including a 24/7 helpline, on-scene advocacy, and support groups, ensuring survivors receive the care and empowerment they deserve. We work collaboratively with the Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking (ICESAHT) and the Indiana Coalition to Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) to continually enhance and develop our programs.
About the Role
As the Crisis Intervention Services Program Coordinator at Middle Way House, you will play a crucial role in supporting survivors and their families during times of crisis. Additionally, you will play a significant role in developing and enhancing the agency's sexual assault services, ensuring that we continue to meet the evolving needs of survivors in our community. You will work directly with individuals and families experiencing domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking providing them with appropriate resources and emotional support needed to navigate their healing effectively.
Major Job Activities
Crisis Intervention Program Oversight:
● Managing and coordinating our crisis intervention services.
● Collaborating with the Executive Director and ICESAHT to enhance the agencies sexual assault services.
● Engaging in continuing education and building community partnerships.
● Ensuring a swift response time for our Rape Crisis Center's on-scene advocacy program.
Community Work:
● Contributing to community events and initiatives, such as sexual assault awareness month activities.
● Participating in meetings and teams focused on sexual assault prevention and response.
Direct Services:
● Assist with direct service duties as needed.
● Hospital and Police Department advocacy.
Role Requirements
● Completion of Agency required onboarding material prior to working with clients
● Completion of ICESAHT’s Core 40 training within one year of hire.
● A commitment to learn and implement anti-oppression theories and cultural humility.
● Comfort with public speaking and working with people in crisis.
● Reliability and teamwork skills.
● Experience working in human service or social service agencies
● Familiarity with local resources
● Supervisory experience
Preferred/Desired:
● Experience with survivors of various backgrounds and identities.
● Understanding of intersectional issues and program development.
● Fluency in languages such as ASL, Chinese, or Spanish.
● College Degree in Social Work, or related field.
