General Function

To cordially greet customers and assist them in their banking transactions with a high degree of accuracy. To maintain accurate transactional records and providing basic cash receipt and payment services in accordance with Bank policies and procedures.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Greet and welcome customers in a courteous, professional and timely manner.
• Receive checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verifying amounts, examining checks for proper endorsement, and entering deposits into computer records.
• Cash checks and process withdrawals after verification of signatures and balances.
• Check night depository bags and required information according to Bank procedures.
• Maintain a current and comprehensive knowledge of the Bank's services, policies and procedures, the rules and regulations for the teller area, including robbery procedures.
• Receive mortgage, consumer loans, and other payments while ensuring the payments match amounts due; then enter into computer and generate receipts.
• Place hold on accounts for uncollected funds.
• Count, check and package coins and currency.
• Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift and verify that drawer totals match computer-generated proof sheet. If necessary research and resolve discrepancies, and report them to the supervisor.
• Ensure the teller station is properly stocked with forms and supplies.
• As part of dual control, balance and maintain ATM as assigned or required.
• Fill out wire form for customer, and complete cash transaction.
• Assist in making sure that bank functions run smoothly and efficiently by undertaking whatever duties that may be assigned or requested.
