MID MICHIGAN HOME HEALTH & HOSPICE LLC is Hiring a Director of Nursing (DON) Near Flint, MI

Mid Michigan Home Health & Hospice LLC, a progressive, Home health and Hospice corporation, is looking for a superstar DON in our Flint, Mi office for our Homecare Division.

The DON is responsible for the overall quality of all home care clinical providers assigned to a multi-disciplinary team and the delivery of clinical services to achieve optimal outcomes on behalf of patients, meeting internal agency quality, policy, and operational standards, and external licensure, regulatory and accrediting body requirements.
Working Procedure and Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical direction and direct supervision to all clinical providers and serve as a leader and resource person to them. Establish and hold providers accountable to standards of performance that ensure quality of patient care. Monitor progress of employees via counseling, case conferencing, evaluations, and chart audits.
  • Conduct biweekly meetings to assist staff in receiving agency communications and apply principles of team building and leadership. Provide resources to assist staff with care coordination and discharge planning.
  • Direct review of documentation such as orders, coordination notes, and follow-up with providers on problem areas in documentation. Collaborate with nurse reviewers, quality assurance coordinator, etc. to ensure compliance with documentation standards.
  • Assist in interviewing and hiring of providers to meet team’s needs. Investigates and resolves patient concerns, events, and occurrences following to their resolution.

Education Required

  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in Michigan

Experience Required

  • Three years experience in home health care preferred.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and good communication skills.
  • Recent experience in a management role.
  • In depth knowledge of Home Health nursing management and regulations.
  • Excellent clinical, assessment and managerial skills.
  • Must have experience with the overall operations of a Home Health Nursing department.
  • Solid work history with demonstrated longevity in the workplace.
  • Able to mentor and direct a team of healthcare professionals.

Job Type: Full-time Required experience:

  • Hospice RN: 3 years

Required license or certification:

  • RN License in Michigan.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
