Micro Gauge is Hiring a Building Maintenance Near Brighton, MI

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities maintenance, and corrective repair of building, manufacturing systems, equipment, and grounds.

Utilizes several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, fabrication, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. Overall, the building maintenance technician is responsible for smooth operation of the entire building.

Duties:

  • Performs assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repair records.
  • Estimates time and materials needed to complete repairs. Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.
  • Assists with installation and modification of building equipment systems.
  • Assists with troubleshooting and repairs of building and installed systems including plumbing systems, electrical systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, and HVAC.
  • Assists with new equipment installation and inspection for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
  • Maintains lighting systems throughout the facility, cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs/lamps.
  • Maintains grounds of facility or property performing such tasks as raking, sweeping, leaf blowing, or snow removal not completed by landscaping company.
  • Performs welding, carpentry, furniture assembly, general fabrication, and locksmith tasks.
  • As acting building maintenance technician, interfacing with customers, contractors, suppliers, and technicians to maintain full operation of all building systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • igh school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of five years of related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor.
  • Self-directed and trustworthy, will work and deliver results with minimal oversight and direction.

Skills:
-Strong leadership skills to supervise maintenance staff effectively sues
- Experience in facilities maintenance with a focus on customer service
- Ability to work with electrical systems and perform mechanical repairs
- Capable of maintaining and repairing various building systems
- Strong problem-solving skills to address maintenance issues effectively
