The Videotape Producer I will be responsible for gathering, producing and editing video under the direct supervision of the Director of Communications.
Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:
Conceives, produces and edits video promotions, interviews, news stories and special projects using video equipment for college level and unit level projects using computer based video editing software; analyzes and makes recommendations for the purchase of video equipment and maintains existing equipment; including the organization of equipment inventory and file storage; and other duties as assigned to carry out the mission of the communications office within the College of Social Science, and Michigan State University.
This position is remote work friendly, but may require working time outside of the standard business day.
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Media Technology, Telecommunications or Broadcast Journalism; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in videotape editing and production; conceptualizing and writing news stories, reporting on news events, and/or experience in a news room; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
