Delivery Driver/Package Handler

Position Summary:

The transportation driver is responsible for transporting cannabis goods from our distribution center to our retail stores across California. The driver’s role is imperative in ensuring cannabis goods are loaded onto the vehicle and then unloaded and verified with a member of management at our retail stores to ensure the associated manifest and delivered goods align. Transportation driver is responsible for upholding company policies and procedures, as well as state and local laws as required by the BCC.

Core Responsibilities

• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.

• Use navigation applications to determine the best route.

• Always interact with clients professionally.

• Ensure before you leave for a trip the vehicle is always fueled, tires are filled with air, tags and registration are

valid and in the vehicle, fluid levels are full and if you are low on anything you report to a manager to supply

you with the proper guidance to get these items taken care.

• Document and log work/rest periods and retain fuel/toll receipts.

• Comply with state and local laws while driving as well as with company policies and procedures.

• Maneuver transportation vehicle into loading or unloading positions.

• Report defects, repairs needed, accidents, violations, or tickets.

• Effective communicates with dispatch regarding schedule progress and to receive instructions.

• Receives manifest to keep on hand throughout the transporting process from member of CIA team. This

ensures cannabis goods that will be loaded onto the transportation vehicle align with Metrc, BCC, State and

Local laws/requirements.

• Loads cannabis goods onto transportation vehicle from distribution center and unloads cannabis goods once

arrived at delivery destination mentioned on the associated manifest.

• Verifies with a member of management at the delivery location that the cannabis goods being delivered align

with the manifest.

• Maintain highest quality standards while handling products.

• All other duties assigned.

• Physical stamina and ability to load and unload boxes up to 45 pounds on and off the transportation vehicle.

• Ability to understand policies and procedures and follow appropriately.

Additional information:

• Employment is union based
• Some overnights & overtime may be required
• Hours: Monday through Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Graduate or GED
• Experience: 21 only, no other experience necessary

Physical Demands/Working conditions:

Positions in this class require: typing, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. May be required to lift up to 45 pounds, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects while completing essential functions. This position is comprised of sedentary work, which involves sitting at a computer a majority of the workday; walking and standing are required only occasionally. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer screen, handling smartphone devices, and reading extensively. The office environment is climate controlled and little outside activity. Regular travel and driving are required for visiting stakeholders and attending meetings, community activities, professional and semi-social gatherings.
