COMPENSATION
Salary Range: Min. $119,377 – Max. $169,439, Grade A
Summary:
This position is integral to the Office of the Senior Vice President (SVP) and is responsible for managing and overseeing human resources and administrative functions. The incumbent will work closely with the People Department to ensure compliance and timely approvals of personnel matters as well as implementing and/or recommending solutions within Subways. The successful candidate will lead a team of administrative and analytical professionals supporting the SVP’s Office and must be able to prioritize and balance all responsibilities ensuring adherence to deadlines and inspire others to achieve objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct all human resources and administrative functions of the Office of the Senior Vice President’s Office (SVP) to ensure accuracy and maintain standardization across offices of the SVP, the EVP & COO, Subways, the EVP, Customer Environment and Facilities, and the Chief of Staff and Organizational Strategy. Human resources and administrative functions for this position may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Provide direction on HR related issues, interpreting, and explaining HR policies and procedures, and serve as the centralized resource to all divisions and departments. Review, analyze, and approve, Subways HR actions and ensure consistency across divisions. Monitor and analyze hiring and reorganization requests to identify resource efficiencies, and deficiencies. Work with HR representatives and/or divisional managers on compensation issues. Develop systems and procedures for forecasting and planning requirements for the Office of the SVP, and manage administrative budget needs to create senior management reports and vacancy reports for analysis.
  • Direct daily administrative activities including review of correspondences, responses, and ad hoc requests for information, as well as customer and employee complaints to ensure accuracy and deadlines are met. Ensure compliance with Presidential goals by participating in committee meetings and monitor and track progress, report on milestone achievements, and assess Subways success in meeting the President’s initiatives. Research and propose business related process improvements as well as serve on committees and roundtables where process improvements are explored.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Business Administration, or a satisfactory equivalent
  • Ten (10) years experience, of which six (6) must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Knowledge of NYCT and Subway rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent problem solving, strategic thinking, detail oriented, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of HR and Compensation policies and guidelines.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle a heavy volume of work with constantly changing priorities in a professional and expeditious manner.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and to act with discretion.
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office application and PeopleSoft
