Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township is Hiring an Adult Education CT Pharmacy Teacher (PT M/T/R PM) Near Indianapolis, IN

The Pharmacy Technician (PHRM) instructor will lead a classroom with a strong dedication to influencing positive student outcomes including 95% retention, 90% certification, and 75% employment within six month after completing the class. All instructors are expected to model best practice professionalism on punctuality, communication, classroom management, delivery of instruction, and assessment of learning. This job description reflects the education, major duties, tasks and responsibilities usually performed by people working in that position.

Educational Requirements

  • Review needed text, workbooks, inventory, and online NHA PharmaSeer seats, and submit request to CT Supervisor two months prior to orientations.
  • Attend faculty orientation and set up NHA PharmaSeer seats one week prior to class;
  • Lead a poised new student orientation.
  • Review Academic Ethics policies and Safety Procedures on first day of class;
  • Cultivate high level of commitment and professionalism by creating the expectation that the classroom will be run with industry standards requiring others before self and a 100% attendance rate;
  • Educate the students about the Student Rubric articulating the required professionalism need to be considered industry ready and providing evaluation feedback at twice a semester;
  • Foster a family Wayne mindset moving all students being committed to each other’s success and structuring accountability partners until 100% certification rate is achieved;
  • Identify immediately any student barriers or document successes by completing the CT Teacher Report and submit to the CT Supervisor. Immediate resources can be found on adulted.info/lc;
  • Connect 4-8 industry human resource professionals or hiring managers as guest speakers through Google Meets or classroom visits;
  • Ensure all students have industry ready resumes and externship documents on file by the set deadline for the Employment Supervisor to facilitate placement for student externships;
  • Plan engaging classroom lessons that require high level thinking, communication, journaling on professional communication skills, as well as industry billing problems;
  • Consider all student learning styles and adapt curriculum delivery to address auditory, visual, social, solitary, physical, and logical learners.
  • Follow the sequence in the curriculum for students’ comprehension tied to placement
  • Prepare detailed lecture notes, embedded videos, and weekly sub plans on each topic to be taught, in line with acceptable standards in the institution and deliver lectures in class with authority on the given topic;
  • Carryout research on topics to identify various insights and angles in the field, pharmacy field making sur students are prepared for duties on the job
  • Create room for interaction and students’ participation in with model patient to office interactions and problem solving
  • Administer tests and assignments to students to assess their understanding of topics they have taken, as well as to measure the efficiency of the teaching methods adopted
  • Participate in meetings and trainings organized by industry associations to equip practitioners with latest trends and practices in the medical assistant field, and transfer acquired knowledge to students
  • Move throughout the classroom to assess and monitor the academic activities of students to ensure they are doing well, and to put them through where they are experiencing difficulties
  • Promote the use of technology in teaching, 
  • Counsel students on their career choices, informing them of best opportunities and serve as an advocate to open doors and leverage opportunities in the field.
  • Evaluate students’ performances and create effective means of rewarding excelling students, while encouraging those not doing so well, by working with them to improve their academic performances;
  • Identify a Student Ambassador as a classroom leader who will assist other students and serve as a spokesperson at events and for Area 31 Career Center Tours;
  • Make reading materials and textbooks available to students to encourage personal learning and extensive reading
