Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Leasing Manager to join our team. The Leasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the leasing process, from attracting and screening potential tenants to negotiating lease agreements. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a thorough understanding of property management.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the leasing process from start to finish, including advertising available units, conducting property tours, and processing rental applications
- Screen potential tenants by conducting background checks, verifying income, and checking rental references
- Negotiate lease terms and conditions with prospective tenants
- Provide excellent customer service to current and prospective tenants, addressing any inquiries or concerns in a timely manner
- Utilize Appfolio or similar software to manage leasing documentation and maintain accurate tenant records
- Upsell additional services or amenities to tenants during the leasing process
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and company policies
- Resolve tenant conflicts or issues in a professional and efficient manner
- Coordinate with property maintenance staff to ensure units are ready for move-in and address any maintenance concerns during the leasing process
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
- Proven experience in leasing or property management
- Strong knowledge of leasing contracts and legal requirements
- Proficient in data entry and office software applications
- Familiarity with Appfolio or similar property management software is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively
- Knowledge of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) program is a plus
- Experience using Appfolio is a plus.
