Full-Time Onsite Position

Our Award Winning Client is seeking an Employee Relations Manager to join their team. This role involves providing support to managers and employees regarding HR policies and practices, researching and investigating concerns, and making recommendations to promote positive employee relations. The ideal candidate will have experience in a union environment and possess negotiation skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Counsel, guide, and educate managers on performance management and resolution of complex employee relations matters.
  • Provide non-routine HR policy consultation, guidance, and interpretation for employees and managers.
  • Respond to and resolve complex employee complaints regarding policy violations, such as allegations of discrimination, harassment, and other work-related issues.
  • Develop action plans and follow up to ensure completion of appropriate resolutions for complaints.
  • Coach and advise managers on performance management and disciplinary matters, ensuring proper documentation and strategizing corrective action steps.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and line of business leadership to review involuntary terminations and mitigate risks.
  • Formulate position statements in response to labor complaints, charges, audits, and legal matters.
  • Monitor dashboard metrics to optimize productivity and ensure adherence to service level agreements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a union environment.
  • Negotiation skills and ability to provide strategic direction in handling grievances and arbitrations.
  • HR certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple states.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with grace and diplomacy while maintaining neutrality.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with case management technology preferred.
