Position Summary
The successful candidate will develop software products to discover new data related to the mission. The candidate will also manage the existing products, making enhancements or repairs as needed. These software products will be used to support missions throughout the world covering a variety of subjects. You will be working in a highly collaborative, integrated environment.
Essential Functions Statements
This SWE3 position is the lead developer of a product portfolio in Integrated Discovery Operations. The successful candidate will have advanced python and linux skills. This role will develop and maintain the products in the portfolio, and work with analysts to enhance features and evangelize the products. Secondary skills with Docker and databases will be useful.

Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical DemandsThis is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities may be required.
Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.

TravelTravel requirements are N/A Required Education, Experience and CertificatesEducation: Experience:
•Twelve plus (12 ) years of general experience in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline.
•At least five (5) years of experience in software-intensive projects and programs for government or industry customers.
•At least four (4) years of experience as a software engineer supporting software architecture development, requirement analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and integration (with both new and existing systems)
Certificates and Licenses:
Computer Skills: Preferred Education, Experience and Certificates
Computer Skills: Experience in developing software in a Linux environment. Docker and database familiarity. Additional Eligibility QualificationsMust be able to accomplish all duties with little or no assistance.Must have good command of the English language; oral and written. Work Authorization/Security ClearanceEmployee must be a US citizen.
